FICTION DAILY

After more than two years of daily columns, I've yet to resume Fiction Daily posts in the New Year. To everyone who has requested them, thanks for your thoughts ... and I do intend to continue posting. The novel and regular freelance work have kept me busy for several weeks, and I am adapting to my duties on City Council, as well. Writing is my first love & I will have new posts, short stories and possibly novel excerpts this spring. THANK YOU!

 MAYBERRY

Here's Mayberry, a genu-wine Tennessee Treeing Walker Hound, last summer on his first trip to the beach. My newest dog, he is a noble, gentle fella who loves children -- and is loved by them. He was rescued (starving) by Friends of the Pitt County Animal Shelter, treated for heartworms and placed for adoption. For one full year he waited ... every weekend at PetsMart, gazing hopefully at passers by, who never gave him a second glance ...

KRZYSZTOF KIESLOWSKI

This Polish director's works probe human nature, give us sadness and joy, always shadowed by melancholy ...
